Just steps away from my doorstep and these little carts are filled with the most delicious fresh fruit! although you have to pay in cash, they are 50 times cheaper than buying fruit at the local grocery store! I love it! Two berry punnets for just $5! Can’t get any better than this. What a cheap, nutritious snack.
I’ll admit I’m a little stingy with money, but thats only because living in New York is so expansive, especially for Australians. So its important to find cheap buys. Being a health freak only makes me more excited that fruit is so cheap! Especially when I’m on a good detox, i like to stick to my berries! Did you know that berries are the lowest calorie fruit!? Great for dieting and the daily detox.
Most mornings i wake up and make myself a berry shake! It consists of Ginger, Lemon, Kale, strawberry, Blueberry’s, Chia seeds and a handful of ice! Extremely low Calorie but will keep you feeling full for hours. With the extra spark of ginger, it will heighten your day and help rejuvenate your system. This recipe is also great after a big night out. I’m not a huge alcohol drinker, but i know that if i do end up spending one good night out, i’ll prepare myself one of these smoothies after or before a good morning run to burn the calories of my previous outing.
